President Kovind pays tribute to Kargil martyrs

Srinagar, President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday paid tributes to the Kargil War martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial inside the headquarters of Army’s 15 Corps here.

President Kovind laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial inside the Badami Bagh headquarters. He also signed the visitor’s register at the Memorial.

Senior Army officers, including GOC 15 Corps Lieutenant General K.J.S. Dhillon, were present during the wreath laying ceremony.

As supreme commander of the Armed Forces, President Kovind was scheduled to visit Drass town of Kargil district today to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of Kargil victory there. However, the programme was cancelled due to bad weather.
