Police constable, a tailor commit suicide in Delhi

New Delhi,  Two men, including a Delhi Police head constable, allegedly committed suicide, according to the police on Saturday.

In the first case, reported from Police Colony Tilak Nagar, Ravinder Meena, 40, head constable posted at Control Room South District, was found hanging from a ceiling fan.

“We received a PCR call about 6 p.m. on Friday made by a woman that her husband had consumed liquor during the day and now was not opening the door. When the police reached there, Meena was found hanging from the ceiling fan. He was rushed to DDU Hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” said a senior police officer.

The family members did not suspect any foul play.

In the second incident, an alleged suicide was reported on Saturday morning at Govindpuri police station. “We got a call that a person had fallen from a building. We found a man lying in a pool of blood,” said a senior police officer.

The deceased was identified as Vinod kumar Prajapati, a resident of Sagar in Madhya Pradesh. A tailor by profession, Vinod was depressed due to poor financial condition. The police had contacted his family, said the officer. No foul play was suspected during initial enquiry, the officer added.
