Bengaluru: Migrant workers from Mumbai board a bus to reach quarantine centre from the Bengaluru City Railway Station on June 3, 2020.

Bengaluru, (Samajweekly) The North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has issued a notice to a bus conductor as three passengers were found maskless amid the Covid pandemic, said an official on Thursday.

“On finding three passengers without masks in the bus, the road transport corporation has issued a notice to the conductor and warned the passengers,” an official of the corporation told IANS.

Eshwar Angadi, the conductor, was performing his duty in the bus heading to Munavalli from Ramdurg in Belagavi district when the incident happened.

“Angadi will be asked for an explanation and warned. I don’t think there will be any disciplinary action as this is the first instance,” said the official.

Similarly, the three passengers were also warned for not wearing masks.

Amidst the pandemic, everybody is required to wear a mask and maintain physical distancing even in the buses by leaving some seats vacant.

Meanwhile, some employee organisations have supported the conductor.

Belagavi is 508 km northwest of Bengaluru.
