Liaison officers to assist J&K students outside UT named

New Delhi,  The Jammu and Kashmir government has nominated liaison officers in various states to redress grievances or to ease difficulties or distress of students studying outside the Union Territory.

The Higher Education Department, in an official communique, declared that these liaison officers are in constant touch with the local administration and college administration and the state governments to reach out to the students of Jammu and Kashmir.

It also requested the students to use the social media “cautiously” and “refrain” from any such activity which can disturb peace and harmony.

“They (J&K students) are further advised not to pay heed to any of the rumours and are requested to contact the liaison officers,” the communique said.

Students in Bhopal and Jaipur can contact Rimpy Ohri, Additional Secretary, Resident Commission, New Delhi at 9419193343, those in the National Capital Region, Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, and Uttarakhand can contact Veedushi Kapoor, the Deputy Director, Information, New Delhi at 9888918303, those in Chandigarh can contact Inderjot Singh, the Manager of J&K House in Chandigarh, at 9419019175, and in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh and Pune can contact Sanjay Pandita, Under Secretary in Resident Commission Office, New Delhi at 9419102045.

Students in Bengaluru can contact Vinay Keasar, the Area Marketing Officer, J&K, at 9797581853 and those in Hyderabad and Chennai can call Ashwani Kumar, the Area Marketing Officer, J&K at 9469238379 or 9149827879.

“The government of J&K is keen to ensure the safety and welfare of the J&K students, pursuing higher education outside the Union Territory of J&K,” said the communique.
