Asean Energy Ministers to meet in Bangkok

Bangkok,  The Thai Energy Ministry on Thursday announced that the country will host the Asean Energy Ministers’ meeting from September 2 to September 6.

Thai Energy Minister Sonthirat Sonthijirawong said that the meeting will be held under the theme “Advancing Energy Transition through Partnership and Innovation”, mainly to focus on cooperation in technological development and energy innovation.

“It is all about collaboration within the Asean community as we enter an area of sustainable energy in the future,” Sonthirat was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency.

He also said that the Asean Energy Business Forum (AEBF) will be held to showcase technology and innovation on energy by business operators as well as a seminar on “Renewable Energy Innovation Week”.

“The AEBF will be a platform where international experts meet to share information,” said Sonthirat, adding that “the state and private sectors will also have the opportunity at AEBF to promote innovation on renewable energy.”

The Asean Energy Award presentation ceremony will be held to promote use of alternative energy and energy conservation.
